According to Geo News, the federal government has implemented a foreign travel policy that restricts federal ministers and government officials from travelling abroad without permission and bans officials from staying in five-star hotels during foreign visits.
Federal ministers, ministers of state, advisers, and assistants may visit foreign countries three times a year with permission from the committee established on austerity. All divisions must receive a no-objection certificate from the Economic Affairs Division to see any international financial institution.
Support staff are banned from travelling abroad, and officials may not travel abroad simultaneously except in unavoidable circumstances. The prime minister must approve any exemptions from the ban.
The president, chief justice, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee, services chiefs, senators, members of the National Assembly, federal secretaries, additional secretaries, and ambassadors are entitled to first-class travel facilities. The prime minister, Senate chairman, and National Assembly speaker may travel in business class.
Foreign, federal, and state ministers may travel in business class, and federal government officers may travel in economy class for foreign trips. First, travel via Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) should be preferred.
Cabinet members must refrain from travelling during National Assembly and Senate sessions and submit all details of foreign trips to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 15 days.
Government officials and ministers must avoid contacting countries where Pakistan has severed diplomatic relations. They must obtain permission from the Ministry of Interior and External Affairs to visit India. Hosting foreign companies should be discouraged, and only experts and consultants will be permitted to visit during bilateral discussions.
